Ethiopian Opal is a more stable Opal than others. They are not so fragile when it comes to heat changes. **Opals are not a super soft stone (5.5-6.5 Mohs, **for comparison Turquoise is 5-6). Opal is durable and not commonly prone to cracking. Cracking more or less depends on the cut of the stone and how it was stabilized prior to it being cut. Opals are wonderful gemstones that do not lose any value and are perfect heirloom pieces. Please note that you should always care for your opals, but do not leave them in oil or water. They will not dry out. They are perfectly stable gems that are perfect for everyone. We offer a 7-day return window starting from the date your order is delivered. Returns are accepted on eligible items, excluding custom, personalized, or sale items.
Return Eligibility
To qualify for a return, items must be:
- Unworn and unused
- In original condition with all tags attached
- In original packaging
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
Return Authorization
All returns must be approved prior to shipment. Items sent without authorization will not be accepted and will be returned without a refund.

We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds on items damaged due to wear, misuse, or customer handling. Professional repair services may be available for an additional fee.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get the piece you want is to return the eligible item for a refund. Once the return is approved, you may place a new order for your desired piece.
Refund Processing
Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval status. Approved refunds are issued to the original form of payment. Please allow time for your financial institution to process and post the refund.
Shipping Information
Estimated delivery times are provided in business days based on our shipping partners once tracking information is issued. While most orders arrive within the estimated timeframe, delivery dates may be affected by circumstances beyond our control, including carrier delays, weather, or holidays.
Order Processing
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–2 business days. Orders placed before 1:00 PM MST are generally shipped the same business day. We do not ship on Sundays or major holidays.
Shipping Carriers & Security
We ship via USPS, UPS, and FedEx.
Orders totaling $800 or more require signature confirmation to ensure secure delivery.
Domestic Shipping
U.S. orders typically arrive within 2–9 business days after shipment. Once an order has been transferred to the carrier, OpalOra Jewelry is not responsible for delays, delivery errors, or lost packages caused by the carrier.
International Shipping
International shipping rates vary by destination. If you are located outside the United States, please contact sales@opalorajewelry.com with your country and the item(s) you wish to purchase. We will provide a personalized shipping quote and assist with your order.

Orders may be canceled within 5 hours of purchase. After this window, orders may already be in processing and cannot be canceled.
